Dr. Ken Cox was raised on a farm in Texas. He attended Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 1980 with the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. After 18 years of practice in Texas, he decided to move to Florida. The small town and friendly atmosphere of New Smyrna Beach was the perfect place to establish a practice. The Animal Clinic of New Smyrna Beach was opened in 2001.
Dr. Cox attends numerous continuing education classes each year to keep updated on new information in veterinary medicine. He also works regular shifts at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Central Florida in Casselberry to keep his skills and knowledge current. He is dedicated to providing the best possible care to his patients. He has often been described by our clients as "sincere" and "down to Earth." You'll find that even after decades of practicing veterinary medicine, he still enjoys his job and loves animals.
